EMPOWER ALL WHO TEACH
The Teaching and Learning Commons (TLC) provides instructional support and resources to empower all who teach at WVU. Our team uses an evidence-based approach that emphasizes creativity, collaboration, inclusivity, and innovation. We work with campus partners to assist instructors in enhancing their teaching, both on campus and online, to deepen student learning and promote student success.

- Academic event and classroom technology support is now handled by Information Technology Services.
- Instructional design and multimedia requests should be directed to WVU Online.
- Faculty teaching support/consultation requests should continue to be directed to tlcommons@mail.wvu.edu. Please continue to check this web site for updates on upcoming workshops.

New Built-In eCampus Tool: Ally
Instructors using eCampus now have access to a powerful built-in tool called Ally that can improve the student experience, particularly for those with accessibility needs or learning challenges. Ally uses an instructor’s original documents to create alternative files, such as text for screen readers, alternative text for images, MP3 audio files of text, electronic braille, and more. Learn more in this Ally FAQ or watch this overview video.

Finding Instructor Feedback on eCampus
Instructor feedback is a valuable tool in student learning. Most instructors take the time to craft meaningful responses to student work. But if students cannot access that feedback, or find it easily, the value of this tool is greatly diminished. To spare students any potential frustration of having to search for your input on their assignments in eCampus, consider being proactive and sharing the View Feedback From Instructors training page and/or this video with your students, ideally, at the very beginning of the semester. For students who prefer to read instructions, you can share the transcript.

MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES
The Teaching and Learning Commons strives to curate resources for our instructors to help promote health and wellness for our campus community. Being more informed of the various support services available can make us all better responders should we encounter someone at risk. For example, the WVU CARE Team provides assistance and interventions as referrals are made to help students and the WVU community.
