Spring 2012 OIT Workshop Schedule Online

The Office of Information Technology offers a variety of free hands‑on sessions and online webinars to WVU faculty, staff, and students.  New and revised workshops and webinars include:

* Clickers at WVU ‑ learn more about the new i>clicker2, the official campus standard for student response systems that replaces the existing PRS system going out of support in early May 2012. (demo/q&a, March 26 2‑4pm; also offered in Faculty Development Series for January 26 http://wvufaculty.wvu.edu/development )

* Excel for Managing a Grade Book ‑ offered once before as a webinar, this will be a hands‑on session on how to use Excel 2007/2010 to manage a course grade book; workshop includes instruction on how to download a grade book from eCampus and upload scores and calculation results from Excel back to eCampus. (hands‑on, Feb 3, 10:30am)

* Powerpoint 2010 Skills for Success ‑ intermediate level session: a workshop for people who want to learn how to use PowerPoint more effectively. Participants will experiment with what makes a “good” presentation. (hands‑on Mar 1, 2pm)

* Turnitin Online Workshop ‑ self‑paced online faculty development workshop taught in eCampus. (starts April 5)

* Word 2010 Skills for Success ‑ intermediate level session: paragraph formatting, styles, citations/bibliography, table of contents, outline view, and more. (webinar Feb 29, 3pm; hands‑on March 1, 9am)

* Wimba Classroom Online Workshop ‑ self‑paced online faculty development workshop taught in eCampus; online office hours are scheduled for practice sessions with instructor. Wimba Classroom is used for online courses, to host remote guest speakers, to conduct virtual meetings, to record student presentations, and more. (starts Feb 13)
